I tried searching my brains out but I couldn't find all the part numbers I needed. And I'm sure someone has all of them. I'm looking to put a 8 rib conversion together for a 05-09. Here is the info I need:

-Alternator pulley part number

-Power steering pulley part number

-A/C pulley part number (I think it's a YB-542)

-Can you just re-use the water pump pulley? It looks wide enough??

-How about idlers? I'm looking to do this as cheap as possible. Anyone have Gates or Dayco numbers or something? There are two different sizes right? 76mm and 90mm?

-Tensioner pulley. I think this is the same as the 76mm idler pulley though.

-I have the balancer figured out

That's it right?

Thanks!:thumb2:

I used everything from a 99 Expedition with a 5.4.

One idler and the tensioner is 76mm the other idler is 90mm.

The alternator pulley wasn't available at the auto parts store but I found one on eBay.

Also was told that same vintage trucks with a V10 came with 8 rib.

By any chance do you know if you used wider idlers? Were they pretty billet or just wider stock style ones? I'm sure Dayco and Gates makes them wider. I just wouldn't really know how to search for them aside from mabe going to Vatozone and having them look them up for a 99 Expidition. But thay may not be the same OD.

Someone posted a Ford number once, I just can't find it.

Thanks

I found some A/C numbers. I found a YB-542 which looks like a Ford number and a F7UZ-19D784-AA which is a Ford number. Anyone know if these are the same thing?

Well, here is everything I think. Hopefully in the future someone can find it by doing a search on 8 rib conversion.

Balancer:

Dorman #594-112 (this is a 7" balancer so it is OD)

A/C pulley:

Ford #YB-542 (I think this is 05-09 only)

Power Steering:

Dorman #300-006

90mm idler:

Gates #38022

76mm idlers:

Gates #38028

Alternator pulley:

Ford #GP711

You can re-use the water pump pulley

I just got an email from Dorman, the balancer is 7" total OD, that is not the pulley size. It is the stock 6.55" pulley size.

From Bruce. Here is the link from another forum.. http://mustangforums.com/forum/4-6l-v8-technical-discussions/604903-diy-8-rib-conversion.html
Rockauto has everything. Yes you can use the water pump pulley. Some more info if needed. If you have an ATI 6 rib balancer part # 918039, ATI will cut two more ribs in the outer ring for a low price.

Parts list:

YB542 A/C compressor clutch pulley

GP720 Alternator pulley

38052 8 Rib idler pulley

300-006 Power steering pulley

38028 76mm idler pulley X2

38022 90mm idler pulley

4081252 Goodyear gatorback belt

Did you order all the parts yet?

I was putting together a hypothetical blower kit with designs on marketing it. And I get asked the 8 rib thing all the time so it was a two-fer. I'll probably end up doing a 8 rib setup on my buddies/neighbors car that is getting the shortblock from you though. I'll have him run a Innovators West balancer (10% OD) and he has a Denso alternator so we'll need to put a 8 rib clutched pulley on that.

I'm sure it will be kinda fun doing his combo......and all the work. But it's mostly charity. I'll have him buy some stuff for my car an call it even.

I can send an 8 rib idler, 76mm smooth and 90mm smooth with the block if you can use them.
