(I'm sure this has been asked before but the search is only pulling up recent results)

Considering picking up a pair of skinnies for track use only. Is there anything I need to modify on the front end or will a set of Welds bolt right up with no problem?

Thx!

I don't recall anyone getting away with it without spacers and longer studs.

That's why I asked the question...

...I'd rather not bother with it skinnies I have to do that. I'll just toss on some stock 17's.

someone here.. black something or other was able to put the Jeg brand skinnies on his car with a spacer.. the difference is that the jeg skinnies use a acorn style lug nut as opposed to the shaft style the Weld use.. there was concern for how much thread he was able to get.. i was tempted to ask him to take pics of the amount of lug coming out of the wheels... And i believe he drives on them daily.. I'm sure he'll chime in..

Well I happen to know that this is what I'm getting for X-mas. So, I'll let you know when I put them on.

you absolutely 100% need longer studs. i didnt and it fucked up my lugs. htey only engage like 4 threads if you dont. If you want ease of use ARP has a kit now for the 05 fronts so you dont have to drill the hubs. expensive but worth it

im getting more than that....i put a open ended lug nut on it and the stud was sticking out about a 1/4" past the end of the lug nut when fully tight.

the open end lug nut was just the basic nut that has a acorn seat? if so did any thread clear or just that shoulder the stock lugs have? this is why i asked for a picture.. 1000 words..lol.. but you put the stock lug nuts back on..

I just bought another spare tire for another member and mounted thin radial tires on the spares lol
that is a viable alternative to the stockers. The spare tire and wheel weighs 29 lbs. compared to the stock 18" w/t that weighs 55lbs.
