Default How Much Does It Weigh?

Based on the recent interest in weight reduction, this thread is intended to be a clearing house for all things related to shaving pounds off our cars.

If you have actually weighed a part, post in this thread and we'll keep the list here in Post #1 updated. Let's also add aftermarket replacement parts, so we can see the difference between stock and its replacement. Please don't "guess" on the weights... that won't help us. Unless you actually put it on a scale, keep it to yourself.

Also, if you notice any errors in this spreadsheet, post them up.

Matt-D now maintains this list, and he will making updates to this spreadsheet as often as necessary to keep it current.

Stock front strut assembly with stock brakes and calipers = 67 lbs each, 134lbs total

Door assembly with trim and window / electric motors (but does NOT include stereo speakers and wiring harness) 81lbs for each door. 162 lbs total. Speakers accounted for in weight of stereo.

A/C system, compressor, condensor, lines. 38lbs This was hard to weigh as the lines and stuff were very bulky. I threw everything in a tote and weighed it---then just weighed the tote by itself and subtracted to come up with the difference.

Shaker 1000 stereo system complete 85lbs

Wiper motor and wiper blades 9lbs (does NOT include washer fluid or washer fluid tank)

Passenger side air bag: 7lbs

Passenger seat (no air bag, no power) 48lbs

Will weigh driver seat (with power) tomorrow, want to confirm the 60lbs, could be +/- a few
Will weigh driver side air bag, stock hood, stock k-member with a-arms, back seat with brackets, seat belts.

Gone. i'm pretty sure that's the easiest weight saving on our car.

I didn't see any noise difference.

You state the LCA to be 12 lbs, Don said 14LBs. Who is right?

Also I would like to add

stock front rotor - 19 LBS each
stock front caliper w/line - 11 LBS each

So the stock front windshield weighs 28lbs... i thought it would weigh more.

I assume the back weighs just as much.

I think if all the windows were replaced on the car dropping 50lbs might actually happen.. They are not cheap though lol but hey, what is?
