Oh well forget the other rear end thread.. lol. I'll ask here. And Jesus I thought it was a stock 3V. I'll let him know but that might be a little out of his price range. Maybe not. We'll see.

That's more along the lines of what he was looking for. lol. Comes with all accessories and oil pan? I'll send him a PM and see what he says. Since we're in Texas, and you're for sure going to NMRA houston (God willing), could you deliver? lol. If you have room.. Let me know. :thumb:

Valve covers to oil pan. No accessories though. Didn't have the p/s pump or a/c when I bought it. I'll even bolt on the black wrinkle finish valve covers if he's serious. I'm less than 15 minutes from HRP so that shouldn't be a problem. Pay for it now and I'll cover it up with a "SOLD" sign on the bag. Either pick it up here at the shop or I'll put it in the truck & bring it to the track.

Sounds like a hell of a plan. I'll let him know and since He's got the 5r55s he won't have to swap trannys, only motor and Ecu. and already has the 8.8. We can get accessories from a local junkyard here though, or keep checking the classifieds. Hopefully this deal gets going! I'll be back later on tonight with some answers. :beerchug2:

S.D., what motor is the 298? Is it the one you just had built?

Do you need any parts I may have?

Will have pics later this evening.

How do you get 298 with 6" rods? You have some custom pistons or something?

This is one I built while waiting on the new unit. I gathered a few things here and there while waiting and finally decided to build it. I did this one when I was contemplating taking the turbos off the car and running it N/A. One of those "hey...what if" type deals.

What parts do you have?

Is it an aluminum block and what brand pistons and rods?

Earl
Brand new Ford aluminum block and standard bore. Pistons are Probe Industries....rods are Probe H-Beams with ARP bolts.

Very custom pistons. However, Probe is offering them as an off-the-shelf piston for their stroker combos.

Is that a 4340 crank? And I'm sure 6" is a typo its close enough.
4340 crank and no typo on the rod length.

and what happened to this going in your car???
The new engine from Probe is going in the car. It has a little higher compression ratio and a shorter connecting rod so the rings are spread out where I wanted them for a turbo engine with high boost. This engine could be run with a blower or turbo as long as the boost is kept down to a modest level. With our plans on putting 20+ psi into the engine I feel better about the shorter rod and ring package of the engine that Probe has supplied me.

That is a typo on the crank, only 2 forgings exist, and one isn't 4340... Ill have to take my spare block and some HJ 6.000 " rods and mock that up, sounds fun!

Need this thing to go so I can finish the car. Six months is long enough to sit on jack stands.
