Mine doesnt pertain to a 4.6, but rather a 5.0 pushrod motor.

#1 Forged JE
#2 Tight -- dont know the clearances right off.
#3 Run 30w non synthetic oil and do normal driving for 500 miles with some 3.4
throttle accelerations to help seat the rings.
#4 -12an lines from both VC to a filtered breather tank.

No oil consumptions at all as of late.

But let me add, that on my 4.6 boosted car I currently run breathers only until I can find a suitable check valves for a fair price. PCV is the way to go, I believe better driveability, better fuel mileage, and slightly better performance can be had with a proper PCV system.

#1 Material of the pistons (2618)
#2 Loose or tight engine (.0045 piston to wall clearnace, .028 ring end gap on first and second ring)
#3 Break-in procedure (Fired it up, checked fluids and put it on the dyno)
#4 Status of your pcv system (Catch can)

I used less than a 1/4 of a quart between oil changes and my catch can would have 4 or 5 taplespoon of oil after a full day of road racing. My car only sees racing so the oil consumption is higher than it would be if I was just commuting.

#1 Material of the pistons- Manley 2618 w/ Total Seal Moly
#2 Loose or tight engine- .003 piston to wall, .018 1st and 2nd second ring, .022 oil
#3 Break-in procedure- Joe Gibbs break in run 15 min change oil and cool down, Joe Gibbs break in w/ 1hr moderate load, then balls to the wall, drain oil change to full syn
#4 Status of your pcv system- Currently all breathers. Will try running pcv hose w/ catch can to blower inlet from passenger side valve cover, vent oil filler neck, and cap driver side. (prochargers recommended setup)

*minimal oil consumption. seems that more oil is breathing from passenger side as well*
