05 gt alternator pulley ( pulley vs clutch )

Huh. Ya learn something new every day, with these things. Thanks. My car eats alternators for breakfast. Maybe I should find me one of those to see if it helps.

05 gt alternator pulley ( pulley vs clutch )

I've never seen one with a clutch, and can't really think why you'd want to have a clutch on an alternator. You always want that thing making power when the car is running, right? I'd say just put it on and see if it makes the right voltage.

    Pistons, opinions!

I'm using Manley 14cc pistons, top coated with Polydyn HS Gold. Supercharged, so 9.0:1 compression ratio. They've been in for 6 years, taking a beating like a red-headed step child and doing just fine.

Alternators and engine performance, am I imagining things?

Maybe he wanted someone to actually read it.

Alternators and engine performance, am I imagining things?

Let's see, what runs on electricity? Maybe your fuel pump isn't getting enough powuh. The only thing in the air system that's electric is the MAF, and that's tiny. I assume the engine isn't missing, so that would imply you're getting good spark. Are air:fuel ratios good? If the computer...

    Lewis Black talks to Texas

The only thing worse than a dirty, disgusting liberal is a whole state full of them. I was born and raised in that area, but got to Texas as soon as I could. Enjoy walking up the stairs with your small Cokes, Obama fans!

Bruce, why did you move away from the Mondo? If your Mondo shit the bed, why not get a new one?

Hang in there. I've had bad days, too, like when I had to remove a head to get a damn spark plug out.

    recommendations on exhaust clamp?

I won't use anything but the OEM ones. Driving down the road and having your pipes come loose and start throwing up sparks is no fun.

    Forging bottom end advice.

Worse than reviving an old thread for no reason is making stupid comments about it. +1. I spent forever speccing out and assembling mine, and I wish I just bought something in a nice, shiny box. I wouldn't buy the Aluminator, necessarily, but I'd snag one of those Livernois 302 strokers in a...

    MCleod RST, RXT clutch

Yes, it's been looked at, uninstalled, and reinstalled by more "experts" than I care to mention.

    MCleod RST, RXT clutch

Nope, hate it. It's a clunky pile of dog shit, as is their customer service. It's only in my car right now because my Ram Street Dual Disc Force 9.5 only lasted fuckin 5000 miles with zero track launches, and I needed something to put in quickly. I had the whole RXT setup for sale for $500...

    ELECTRICAL: gremlin getting stabbed?

Yeah, sorry for being confusing. I had two separate issues that happened around the same time, which made me think they were the same cause. First, I lost a stock cooling fan several months ago. The motor ceased and unbeknownst to me, burned up some of the harness going to the BEC, and part...

    ELECTRICAL: gremlin getting stabbed?

I ripped out everything connected to the interior lights, including the innocent connector in the passenger side A-pillar that valiantly sacrificed its life for the cause. When I pulled up the driver's side door sill, I saw that one of its wires was pinched in the clip and shorting it to the body.

Upgrading the stock fuel line on a returnless setup

Nice write-up. I have -8AN lines from front to back, with a -6 fitting at the fuel hat, but hadn't considered removing the valve in the basket. I'll do that next time I'm in there. Thanks.
