    298....tr6060.....67mm@20 psi.....in progress!

Great build...but why not get the JPC intake manifold for such a strong build?

FRPP Intake before and after N/A results

Agree with Earl. The stock intake manifold does not share gases evenly at high boost. We swapped to the JPC for that reason. Don't care about hp gains... do care about even gas cylinder distribution.

    3V intake manifolds

..... and we are not looking for a single HP increase from our JPC. We switched for the even gas distribution/flow between cylinders at high boost, something that is highly suspect with the stock intake manifold.

What about the JPC version that is tried and tested on 8 sec S197s? Pic of the JPC on top of my engine

Trying to find a good combination

Used to have a P1SC before going turbo. I was told back then by Procharger that the P was upgradeable for about 1200 bucks to the D, but not at all to an F. You comparing the JPC to the other too. The JPC is a proven product on 8 second S197 mustangs. Are the other two?

4R70W Conversion -- Are these good options for my setup?

Had the 4stb-e from FB Performance. Great transmission and great service/support from Mike and Fred. I sold it to a mate (switched to powerglide). With a new tune and some extra boost, he dropped from 11.8 to 10.3 in the 1/4, the first night at the strip after installing the 4r. I have had a...

Our quest to build a low 9 sec. s197

About double that number. Then started using meth...dropped 100+ degrees but the stock intake manifold caused uneven distribution of the mix...some cylinders rich...others very lean and poooof. Hopefully JPC int man will help and reassessing meth use. Major emphasis right now is weight loss to...

    Hp vs Ph turbo

Had two different sized PH turbos on this car, first a 67mm, then upgraded to 76mm. Excellent product and service/support. For reason unknown, the first 67mm froze a few hours after install. Called Mike Bowen at PH. No questions asked... another new unit was on the way, which was received...

    C-4 super comp transmission

Had a 4r from FB Performance (model 4stb-e). Worked great for a good while. Sold it to a mate couple of months back, as we switched to a powerglide. He is having much success with the 4r. My builders told me the glide was way lighter than the 4r, maybe 100 lbs or more, at least that's what it...

Our quest to build a low 9 sec. s197

We've been having issues with high IATs. How high? Found a solution?

    Hellion quandary.

Yep....started with 67mm...now have 76mm. There is a lag difference between the two for street driving.

    C&L VS JPC Intake Manifolds

We chose JPC for its proven abilities on 8 second S197s. Had nothing to do with any potential hp gain. We are at 22 lbs boost on last build and may try 25+ lbs of boost, on new one. More interested in even distribution of boost and gases per cylinder, than 20-40 more horses or whatever.

8.8 Spool and axle info needed -_-

Have spool. When car had very limited street use (10-15 miles per week)...it was a real pain and the tires scrubbed horribly. Also heard some scary clunking noise back there.

    Granatelli Turbo kit?

Our car has the powerhouse. Started with his 67, then upgraded to his 76mm. Been dealing with Mike for 2 years now. After-sales service and support is awesome. He has fabbed piping and other stuff for us too. I remember when we first got the 67mm. For whatever reason the head unit...

new dyno numbers....newer than other "new dyno numbers" post

No chore at all, going from a 5 speed stick to the 4r70w. If you're going to the strip fairly often, the 4r70w automatic is the way. We sold our 4r70w to a mate with a built motor and a small KB on a 2005GT. His previous best with the stick was 11.8. With a new street tune on pump gas, around...

    4R70W

We sold our 2 year old 4r70w to a mate. He has an 05 GTwith a KB supercharger, also about two years old. The 4r had been refreshed and upgraded to handle 1100 hp. With a new street tune on pump gas at pretty high boost, maybe 18+ lbs (built motor etc etc), he took his ride to our local strip...

    Stay TR6060 or go 4R70W?

Don't know which type, but don't think there was anything special about them. They were located in front of radiator. Been advised that in new setup, coolers will be located further back to keep more weight away from nose of car.

Or get rid of the meth (just something else that can go wrong) and do the intercooler. What meth mix do you use?

    Stay TR6060 or go 4R70W?

We had a 4r on the car. Great for dragracing (rated to about 1100hp) and quite streetable. Three forward race gears, electronic overdrive, full manual valve-body and t-brake. Model was 4stb-e from FB Performance. Had all kinds of other issues (fuel, motor) but the 4r never missed a beat. Car...

    Does anyone really Know?

A mate of mine with a turbo and myself, used to get tuned on the same dynojet with the same operator. Then we switched to a different tuner who uses a mustang dyno. On the baseline pulls without any tuning, both our cars (running different size turbos and different boost levels) showed a 20%...
