Haven't posted in a very long time, had to take a break from the hobby to sort out other issues. But made my 2nd visit out with the car, this is 12lbs of boost, 14# timing, pump gas with the 5.4 3V swap, 70mm turbo, MT 295/17/45 ET Streets....finally back in the 10's since the V6 was in the...
That's why I am having a shop go behind me and weld in. Still get the savings of doing the install myself, just paying for someone to do the welding.
Is that for NMRA? I thought for NHRA the rear points have to be welded in.
Thats the next step. I have to have the rear points welded in from underneath to make them NHRA legal. Will be scheduling that one probably the week after next. I may also have the front two points welded in too for piece of mind.
Thanks.
My V6 is long gone. But for your goals you can do it on a single turbo without a stroker. For CR, I like your choice, will make a turbo more manageable at the line. You can hit your goals with a single turbo just fine, just make sure its sized properly. I'd do 60lb injectors...
Cool.
I've followed your threads on the forums and always been a fan of your car and what you've done with it. What are your ET goals? A 10 second street car? If so you don't need a stroker kit to do that.
Well its your call. Either way this cage is a great value. Its not really mechanical, just nuts and bolts and keeping track of shit. Well there is having the balls to cut your interior and use a hole saw on it. That was a little scary. LOL.
Thanks man. It wasn't bad, just take your time and keep track of all the bolts and where they go.
Thanks man. I'm finally legal, now I can't get booted anymore like I did at FFW Norwalk back in 07.
The other thing I like about this kit is the rear bar is at an angle, this lets me put the seat all the way back and lean it back too. I'm 6'1 and I've been in cars with cages that are completely vertical and it sucks as you can't lean the seat back at all.
So kudos to MM for that design.
Day 3
3rd and final day. This involved cutting rear interior, the final bolt in of the cage and putting the interior back in the car. First was
Had to finish drilling the holes into the support brackets for the rear bars. Ended up putting on gloves as the metal shards actually were...
I finally finished installing this cage and thought I would share the write up I did, I took my sweet ass time doing it...but have a few tips....
I finally started installing the cage this weekend. I did do a few weeks of prep for this though. Here is the info on the cage:

I'd go with the powerhouse kit. Its bolt on and shows the best gains of all the kits. I had their kit on my 4.0 and now have it on my 5.4. Build quality, and support are exceptional.
Congrats to both. Small list of mods on Justin's car, the 5.0 is just insane. Makes me want to do another swap. 10's with 100 shot and to most of us, a small list of mods and no tune is insane.
10.8's is damn strong too, tune or no tune.
Awesome.
