I've been lurking here for a number of years and benefited from alot of the info posted here. But now I have a couple questions that I can't seem to find the answers for..
I picked up a low mileage 2010 4.6 Mustang intake manifold complete with throttlebody and injectors. From what I understand after hours of internet research is that the intake will bolt on and work just fine on a 2008 4.6 Mustang. Although the intake to head gaskets are different, I am to believe the intake sealing surface on the heads is the same so the intake will bolt on and seal correctly using the gaskets appropriate for the intake, correct?
All electrical connectors are the same?
Now the big question, what, exactly, is the difference between the 05-08 injectors and the 09-10 injectors? My old injectors are a dark color, black maybe. The new ones are purple/lavender. Are the 2010 injectors a slightly higher flow rate? If so, will that matter to my PCM?
My interest in using this intake is not for any performance gain, but because it and the throttlebody/injectors were removed from a car at 12k miles and cost me $150 for it and some other parts. My car sits at 200k and I am about to do coolant/radiator hoses, so it is a convenient time to put on an almost new (comparatively) throttlebody and injector set.
Thanks-
