Alternator compatibility

2006 mustang gt 4.6 alternator is toast , I got my hands on a 04-10 crown vic alternator 200 amp , the plugs look the same is it compatible , searching this online isnt as easy as it once was , you get more ads then answers … so ill go out on a limb and see if anyone with this knowledge wants to chime in please and thank you.

I did that a few years ago, 200 amps from a 2008 police interceptor, the inlet (Red) must be removed and a rubber gromet used with the oem mustang wiring to avoid sparking. Also you need to replace the alternator to battery wire with a 4 gauge with a fuse, you can get that on lineworks perfect, never had any problems. Oh i forgot, you need to change the pulley from the Mustang to the crown vic.

I put a breaker in instead of a fuse. Check the pulley to make sure they're the same.
