electric cutouts?

whats the latest with the electric cutouts ive seen. i hear very little about them. i thought i read that don w has a set on? seems like they should be worth 10-15 hp? anyone?

It's almost like an O/R pipe. it will show an increment of about 7 rwhp and maybe 10 lbs of torque.

Yes, I have electric cutouts, and I love them. I can't vouch for any power gains, but for the sound alone it was worth it to me. All of my drag racing vids are with the cutouts open.

The typical cutout "Y-pipe" wouldn't fit anywhere I wanted it, so I had Adam weld up custom stub out on the X-pipe as close to the headers as possible. The frame rails and other stuff presented a lot of interference, so this was the only place they would fit well. Pics are below. I'll be there, but I'm not sure about the car. I need to resolve the rear end issue first. And even if the car makes it there, I don't think I want to put it on the dyno and stress the rear. Oh yea... since my converter is a POS, it won't lock in 4th gear for a pull anyway. I know...

Re Exhaust Cut Offs

Like Don said they are great for the sound alone,never mind putting on a exhaust system,you can throttle the cut offs open from 10% to 100& open.Just order 2 spare motors for them they are about 30.00 each.When mine are open fully they set car alarms off from the noise & air movement.

That is what i did at the Bellagio in April when i was at the NHRA drag races.What a hoot.Hey Don sorry i missed you,i did go down to San Diego & stayed at The Barona Ranch & Resort Casino very nice place to stay.
