Not ET Streets or DR's, but those of you using MT Slicks, what psi did you find worked best for you?

10-13 lbs.

This is what worked best with my old coupe and a couple cars that are running now.

But be careful of the "Whobble" you'll get on the big end of the track. It takes some getting used to but it can be a bit scary at first.

I started at 11, went to 11.5 and I'm now at 12 (cold of course). I may continue to go up in 0.5 increments. The "wobble" diminishes with more air pressure. I felt it a lot at 11psi, but I hardly even notice at 12psi. Oh, these are 28x10.50-15's.

That's what I have.

I don't really care about a little wobble, but what I want to know from you Don, is at what psi did you net your lowest 60'?

Peter, that sounds good on 'paper' - but I've never got traction even with the ET Streets with anything over 14.

My best run at Englishtown was at 50ºF with my tires at 18psi.
I launched at around 5500rpm and dead hooked.
I was running the 26X11.50-17LT ET Streets on factory wheels.

Thanks for all the responses guys. I guess it will be fun to just figure it out since it sounds like a lot of different set-ups worked for different people. On the same ET Streets, Peter, I hooked best at 12.5 psi before the burnout which I figured put me at around 13.5-14 when I left the tree. But that was back on the vortech, stock motor, and manual so a completely different time and set-up.

Either way I have a trans brake and I'm not afraid to use it..lol

I'm sure I will have to find what works for me but I'm betting it will end up being in the 10.5-11.5 psi range before the burnout.

I would really like to here what David (169stang) was running cause he was leaving on a brake as well.

The lowest 60' time (1.542) was at 12psi, but we had a couple in the 1.54-1.55 range at 11.5, too.

According to M/T tires that are less than 30" in diameter n a car over 3,000 lbs a minimum tire pressure of 16psi should be used.
The higher the pressure you can use while hooking the faster you will be.
