Ran the car today at MIR in 90* weather with good traction. Totally stock save the Mickey Thompson DR's. The best time of the day was the last run due to the driver (me) getting used to what it takes to get this car to leave. [email protected] with a 1.844 60ft.

I'm certain with cooler weather and a bit more practice 12.5's are well within reach but for a baseline car that is totally stock I will take it for sure.

Also tossed her on the scales and with 145lb driver it weighed 3695#. Its a base GT with 19" wheels, 6spd stick with the Brembo package.

Car shifted great and I was able to powershift it in all 4 gears.

JJ

Cool. Now toss on a few bolt ons and work on the 11s...

EDIT: are bolt-ons even available yet? I'm not seeing much in the trades yet...

I haven't seen much either. I think BBR is working on an off-road x-pipe. But i was thinking, is the 2011 5.0 exhaust any different then our 05-09 GT's? Just a midpipe and axle backs is what im talking about.

axle back should be the same...i seriously doubt the mid pipe will be the same...looks like the headers come down further where the ball and socket would meet up. also im sure 02 sensor placement is different.

Your right. BBR is making and O/R pipe. I'm not sure if its X or H. As far as axle backs, BBR said that 2010 axle backs fit the 2011's.

Evolution Performance already has a lot of 2011 5.0 parts for sale. Check it out:

I noticed that a 5.0 American Racing 1 5/8'' longtube header/catted midpipe kit costs 170.00 more than for the 4.6 3v version. Not a terrible price increase.

Back on topic.... Awesome times JJ, these 5.0's are turning out to be very impressive. I can't wait until you mod it.

Congrats, JJ, it was definitely hot out there! Car looked sweet, and definitely seemed like it wanted some RPM off the line. I was in the RH lane and a car back, saw you leave in the LH lane and bog on an early pass.

I read somewhere that the 2010 axle backs dont "bolt in" Because ford changed the way they went over the axles.. and I believe the tips on the 2011 need to be longer as well.

Again I just read it somewhere not sure there is any truth to it.

I *think* the difference is one set is ball and socket type while the other is slip fit. Not 100% sure though.

Good times considering the conditions and being the first time out with the car. Looking forward to more results.

So I just looked under my car, the hangers, are different, and the way it bends over the axle and connects are completely different.
