A long time ago I replaced my 500 head unit with an AVIC D3. I sorta remember the wiring required to supply 5 volts to the amps, but it's all pretty much a blur. Fast forward to a month ago and I upgraded to a Kenwood DNX7190 (MUCH prefer the Garmin Nav to Pioneers) and I now get the pop every time the system is turned on or off. I think I read something about that being a grounding issue, but I checked all of those when I did the install. Did I miss something or have my amps crapped out?

I'm glad I saw this thread because I just installed a Pioneer AVH-3400BT and I get the popping every time it comes on. Now I know I just need to add that resistor.

When I had my D3 I used a part from radio shack that bumped 12v down to 5v.

Sent from a secure underground Government facility.

I have the Radio Shack thing and it worked great the whole time I had the D3. Now it pops. Maybe it fried during the re-solder. The resistor will be simpler.

Thanks!
