I have a 2400km road trip upcoming (that's 1500miles).

I currently have Nitto 555R (305/35/20) rear tires and Falken FK452's on the fronts.

For the road trip do I:

1 - Make the trip as is with 555R's (currently have less then 1000kms use). Worried about wear; trip is 90% highway, through lots of mountains and possibility of bad weather (trip is from Calgary AB to Vancouver BC down to Seattle WA). Might want to keep em as fresh as possible for street and strip visits

2 - Remove rear 555R and re-install matching rear Falken street tires (slightly affraid that mounting and balancing too many times may hurt the soft Nitto's) Falkens are 275/35/20 and will work well in all weather.

3- Use my old set of wheels and tires (seperate 19" wheels already mounted and balanced with nearly worn out Eagle F1 supercar tires). They are at 7/32nds front and 5/32nds rear enough to go through my trip) This delays me selling them.

I vote for #2. I wouldnt want to chance driving in bad weather on DR's or on worn out Eagles. Choose the safest tire for the trip.

Leave the 555R's on it. That way when you get to Seattle, you can go racing with us.

Swap em over.
No need to wear them out on that drive.
I drove from northwestern B.C. to that area last year.
Wear was noticable.
On another note when are you going?

I'm heading down, leaving Friday.
Too bad we can't meet up down there.

I'll still be less than half way down by Friday night :mad2:
Car goes into TMS on Mon.
Back down in Aug hopefully with engine and clutch nicely broken in.

Leave a day earlier. Marc and I will both be at TMS on Friday, then off to the test and tune for me anyway.

I wish I could.
I was supposed to have this car down there a month ago. It's been agony.
To the op, I hope you get a chance to run with these guys.
Some interesting builds, and you meet the nicest people in Wash.

I'm sure your car and mine will get to know each other very well. Mine's a regular at TMS. They are good people, you won't be dissapointed. while your car is down here, let me know if you need anything. Also, if you need a ride from the B.C. border to pick your car up, let me know. I visit friends in Bellingham/Lynden on a regular basis.

Thanks Marc s that is very kind of you.
I met Bruce H last year at "The HP Ranch after TMS installed my saleen blower.
We had some issues with my pcm and it's acceptance of the tunes.
But they stuck it out with me till the end and have not forgotten that.

I am looking forward to seeing you guys run at the tracks down there.
As soon as everything is broken in, I hope we can line then up at some tracks down there.
