It's a NASA Spec Iron Race Car, the class started last year.
Basically only 2005-2011 4.6L Mustang GT's are allowed with a minimum of mods to the car to keep the costs under control.
Ford Racing sponsors the class with a per race (2 races per weekend) of $250 for 1st, $200 for 2nd and $50 for 3rd with a minimum of three starters. For two starters there's $100 for 1st and $50 for 2nd.
I plan on attending Comp School in October.
Ran the car at Sebring last weekend and got to within .75 seconds of my best time in the Boss.
It's really a lot of fun having a car that's about 400 lbs lighter, it goes where it's pointed with a lot confidence.
