Does anybody know what these parts I have circled are used for?
Would it be safe to jack the car up using them as lift points?

They are weights (Ford's anti vibration solution) and only held on with one bolt each. Remove them and throw them away IMO. Jack up the back of the car from under the rear end (don't catch the edge of the cover, you may bend it and create a leak) and place your jack stands under the axle or under the frame at the front LCA mounting points.

Great! so I can take em off. Hey thanks.
I've been jacking the back of the car up using two floor jacks under the axle, by placing one on each side. Then I place jack stands under the frame. Is this a good method? (I don't want to damage the axle tubes).

Yeah, and they got to have special angles & shapes on them so they cost more.

Dude,
You need some red parts under that car.
Contact Kelly @ BMR.
He'll get you fixed right up.

I would not jack the car up by the axle tubes. Stands is fine once its up.
