If you do it you may want to not show your face and use an alias; just say'in. And don't expect it to stay up that long. Copyright violations can be a bitch.
Whats the name of the channel?
There is a program called pcmflash. Hardware is relatively cheap, add your own laptop, and use TunerPro (free version available) to tune just about any obd2 vehicle. Sounds great until you find out how much it will cost to have your strategy mapped to be able to use the hardware. Total comes out to about $750. Sct advantage + x4 programmer, also about $750. And by the time you get HP tuners and the credits to tune your car, also right around $750. Coincidence? lmaoIm sure it’ll probably be along the lines of “VIDEO BLOCKED DUE TO COPYRIGHT”..
This is super neat, an open-source tuning option for these cars would be badass but I’m sure SCT will have something to say about it. Good luck with the endeavor!
Maybe. But SCT unlocked X3s. And the only way was mail sent unlock. It means that microcontroller locks itself after 5 tokens expiring or connect status (married) And SCT guys just reflash it. You can see 20 pins on the back of the board. And this if for jtag flashing probably. My thoughts. It would be great if smb has a locked unit. It is possible to try to read a microcontroller. If it is read-protected and unlock procedure kill it then it's not a big problem, It was locked anyway
I wouldn't mind 'experimenting', lol Guess you want shipping covered? heheheSomeone on here a while back was able to unlock it himself somehow. He didn’t post the instructions, though, so he couldn’t be sued. Pretty neat idea but I don’t think I’d do it. I have a locked x3 if someone wants it.

I'm afraid it is all about copyright. It might bring problems
I have an idea, yeaDo you know what to start with?
It is not copyright.I can't see any reason why unlocking a device would violate copyright law. That's sort of a ridiculous claim. Nothing would be copied and redistributed.

It is not copyright.
It is proprietary property. You need to pay for that 'license' fee. But in the case of "I forgot to unmarry, and sold the car", you should not need to pay to unlock. But since this could be easily abused, you have to pay to unlock. Trying to unlock the device by reflash is essentially pirating IMO.
SCT is no longer supporting the X3. They WON'T unlock it. So should it go into the landfill when it still has usability? "No" is my opinion. It's not pirating to continue to use a device that still has usefulness. All of these companies making devices that they intentionally make obsolete is just plain wrong.
Can you share your idea? I have some ideas too. I don't see private messages at this boardI have an idea, yea
