Well looks like my stock water pump has finally given up the ghost, anyone got a suggestion on what I should put back in? I always try to upgrade anytime I have to replace something......right now I'm looking at the

Edelbrock Performance Water Pump 8804

Anyone got any other suggestions ?

I got 200k off my oem pump, so I put another one in. But no performance enhancements to the car, so I just wanted more of the same reliability.

$200 Edelbrock vs $50 Motorcraft for no real increase in cooling/flow doesn't make sense to me...

Ok sounds like the vote is in and it's OEM Motorcraft for the win....Thanks everyone for the input.

I've got a 138K and I have replaced the one under the intake but not any of the others.
Yep, plus the age. Probably a good idea. The nipple sticking out the back of the water pump area has a couple o-rings on it. Time and heat cycling have probably not been good to them. It's easy to pop that out and replace the whole thing.

I've run and raced with the Edelbrock water pump for years without issues, so I'd say that's a safe buy if you want to stick with a pulley-driven pump.

I'm actually in the process of switching over to an electric pump, but if I was sticking with the pulley style pump I'd buy another of the Edelbrock ones without question.

Since you have to drain the system to do the pump anyway, it's a great time to replace your hoses. I went with the Mishimoto ones and they've been great. Used the Ford coolant system flush and replaced the thermostat as well.
