All depends... I did a full repaint on my Bullitt in the same color since I was never happy about the factory paint. Plus, after my accident in 2012 the entire driver side was all fucked up from a hackjob Ford body shop in NC...
We used BASF with multiple layers of high-grade clear - IIRC $5300~ . That included a new front bumper, rear quarter glass, and had the antenna filled, washer nozzles filled and the rear sat antenna.
Changing a car color entirely would require a ton of prep... and with that a lot of money to do it right. I would seriously consider wrapping it before repainting it.
