The 323 Shortblock is 7,100, and the 298 Shortblock is about 5,000. I would take saving 2,100 over 25 extra cubes.

eh, it's never really been about money. It's about having a plan, a goal, and doing it right the first time. So, I just need to kick around some ideas, talk to some builders, and figure it all out.

If I was to do it id spend the cheese figure like this if your NA and lets say your motor makes 1.5HP per cubic inch the 323 will make about 38HP more and if your FI and lets say your motor make 2HP per cubic inch your talking 50 easy HP more, now factor in the TQ difference which is where these motors need help. Not a bad value now is it?

I agree...
... the HEAT of the boreing that would bother me most... 298 is tested and proven street/strip bottom end.

I would not worry about it. Getting a bigger, more efficient radiator and water pump and oil pump would be a must. An oil cooler would help too.

Updated Dyno Info

Hey guys,
A few of you have asked me what the SAE CF results are. I got a copy today and they still look really good.

380 RWHP and 348 RWTQ. I am still happy with those numbers, BUT... I am keeping the STD CF numbers in my sig. If Im gonna bench / dyno race, I am taking every advantage I can get... :moon2: LOL

I assume you mean track? LOL

If the weather is good, Wednesday I will hit the local 1/8 and Friday the not so local 1/4. It has been raining every track day since I tuned the car. It is driving me nuts...

You and me both Marc...

If the weather is good, I am going to hit Mason Dixon for the T&T on Friday. If you are around, you up for going?

I can't wait to see what the C&L does for you... :popcorneat:

Friday, absolutely. The new manifold didn't perform as expected on the dyno, but let's at least give it the benefit of a doubt and get it at the track. Let's pray for dry weather...
