    2005 or 2007 ECU?

My 05 Mustang Gt auto tranny is toast, motor has 147k. Bought a 2007 4.6 and auto trans with 77K. Motor has Detroit Rocker cams, CAI with tune and long tube headers. Can I use the 07 ECU? Or do I need to stick with the 05 and by another SCT tuner and install a new tune ?

How do I make 400whp in an 06 GT?

I think you can get close to 350 RWHP NA, maybe a bit more. 350 Hp is a bunch for a 281 CI. Cams, tune, CAI, long tube headers, bigger throttle body, underdrive pulleys, aluminum drive shaft will get you there…Reducing weight won’t make hp but will make your car quicker. I have all the above...

Flaming River rack and pinion or?

A good portion of my street/strip S197 is complete… waiting on Viking struts paid for and on order. The next step is to purchase a flaming river rack and pinion system (Nearly $1000) which seems to be the only manual R&P. I’ve read on this site people “looping” power racks but with no more...

    Strange Manual brakes from BMR

So I ordered a manual brake set up through BMR. The generic instructions tell me that I need to drill a different hole to increase leverage. I figured that before buying. The instructions off BMR’s site that says to use the same hole but drill out to 1/2” for a bronze bushing. The preferred...

    Street/Strip front strut recommendation?

I am knee-deep into my 05 GT Street/strip car build. So far I have cut the front end off my car and replaced it with a rock solid tube front end. BMR member and control arms should be here next week… So that leaves me with the next item on my build sheet… Struts…. I’d like to go coil over, but...

Thanks Dallas281. I’m looking to pull 250lbs off the front. Might not get there but with a tube front end, manual steering, manual brakes, chromoly k member and control arms, drag wheels and skinnies up front, battery relocation and ….I should come close.

    Light weight brakes ?

On my 2005, mustang GT, I am trying to build a lighter Street/strip car. I have already purchased a Rocksolid chromoly tube front end, plan on running, drag skinny tires, upfront, and Mickey Thompson tires on the back… Along with VMS racing wheels. While, I haven’t purchased some of these...

How would you restore the car from the ground up?

I owned an aluminum boat company for 23 years. Aluminum oxidizes quickly so it has to be painted within 24 hours. But the only failures we had (2) was a painter who never properly sanded, prepped, or painted correctly. We found a new painter and problem solved.

My 2005 Mustang project is well underway. Should have the motor/auto tranny pulled this week and I’ll start on my Rock Solid Motorsports chromoly tube front end. I’d like to run a separate transmission cooler and by pass the radiator… Is this even possible or must integrate the radiator?

    Electrical issues with gauges.

I bought a 2005 mustang GT back in August… I was told it had some gauge issues and confirmed that on my way home from Seattle to Roseburg Oregon with the car. Car is a bit rough. However the body is a nine out of 10 and I am planning on doing some serious upgrades to the car. The biggest issue I...
