2011 Aluminum 5.4 Production GT500 block = $2499 :naughty1:

Yup...you said it hit the rev limiter, you pedaled it, and it went to shit. I said, "Oil pump is shit now." You said, "Oh shit, wonder what else it hurt?" I said, "Lots of stuff."

Pretty much sums it up as I recall the PMs and emails.

Yea maybe so..........

You think the premium is worth it?

Bill - he has not offered and I am not expecting.... Cavet emptor... I had the car inspected and all seemed good

Check the link in my edited post concerning the iron block shortblock full of forged goodies. $3500 is pretty damn good and I'm betting you could get it a little cheaper. That is the price on FRPP's site.

Ya but still....

I'm not trying to hijack the thread but why would the seller help out? I just don't see how it is his problem, it was running fine when he sold it, stkjock bounced it off the limiter. This is pretty much a case of shit happens,IMO. I am not trying to start a pissing match, just curious as to your reasoning?

I'll check it out, but I want to build it back to at least what it was.

Those are some ugly picks...sorry to hear about that man. Can't somebody figure out a way to tune a smoother rev limiter to prevent a catastrophic failure like that??

He only put about 200 miles on it..You are right., the seller has absolutley no obligation to do anything. If it was me, I would do something to help out..Dave is a good dude, and I feel bad for him, thats all..

Now, on to the build!!! Good luck Dave...

:hi:

Damn it man but look on the bright side, a badass build thread is in the making... Surprise!!

:beerchug2:

Or as I say: "Money, you can't fuck it or eat it, so burn it!"

well the car is already built, as long as the heads are good I think I'll just need the short block.
