Damn this sucks. Sorry to hear it's this bad. You can build it bigger, better, and faster!

No, really. That whole "immortality" gig is grossly underrated.

Just make sure you don't sparkle in the sunlight like the gay Vampires.

Dave, I really feel for you dude. That would be my luck if I ever actually got a Shelby, some shit would fuck up or someone would fuck it up. I can't believe the vert hasn't sold yet. At least you have something to play with, but the money would be nice for the build.

Scary that a bounce off the rev limiter could cause so much damage. I thought the limiter was there for protection. I really for bad for you. Good luck with the fix.

The way the rev limiter works in our cars the last thing you want to do under boost is hit the limiter. I recommend setting the limiter as high as you can just to prevent hitting it. I would rather over rev the engine then hit the limiter.

Wonder if you could have the boost dump when you hit the rev limiter?

after talking to the shop again today, it's his conclusion that the failure started due to a lack of sufficient "clamp" on the crank. The resulting play allowed torsional forces to tear apart the crank snout and oil pump. He feels that it is somewhat of an inherent weakness in the design which is exaggerated by the size of the blower and the amount of boost the car was pushing.

I'm working to have a new short block built with some upgrades to what was in it.

Dude, I still hate to hear about all of this but it seems like you are taking it fairly well and I sure hope this new engine is the ticket. Do you plan to disclose its contents or will you keep it a secret?

once I decide on what's going in I'll let it be known

Any word on the heads?

believed to be ok, but need further inspection to be sure

FYI - That previous recommendation I gave, scratch that. Less than 200 miles on new build and I have 2 dead holes, burnt plugs and possible head damage.
