New Steeda SBH 6101 brake hoses

Roger that. Mine were listed by part #, and they had worked fine. PowerStop wouldn't tell me why they were recalled, but they told me to park the car. NHTSA was absolutely no help at all. It was like they had the dumbest intern on earth respond to my question.

    Axle Build Retainer Question

I read a Camaro mag or website once, and one thing they envied about the Mustang was the 8.8 and its C clips. Irony abounds.

New Steeda SBH 6101 brake hoses

Because PowerStop has recalled its braided stainless steel hoses for some reason, I bought new ones from Steeda. They're a little more expensive than competitors, but you get copper crush washers instead of aluminum ones. The kit came with lots of brackets. I saw no reason to replace the OEM...

    Rear brakes always this hard?

I had the same sticky caliper problem about four years ago when I changed rotors and pads at 110k miles. I don't remember whether it was left or right, but one took extraordinary force to wind the piston back into the caliper. I cleaned everything up, and they work fine now 35k more miles down...

    PowerStop Recall (Brake Hoses)

BTW - I bought them from RockAuto, and I never heard a peep from them.

    PowerStop Recall (Brake Hoses)

Check. Dropped the VISA on Steeda SBH6101 today. AMR had some negative comments on their website about the other brakelines. Thanks again!

PROOF THAT I'M NOT AN A-HOLE. (All the time)

I assume it's latex paint??? I've had good success with Krud Kutter. It'll even take dried latex paint out of carpet. And God bless you for being nice to the old coot. "'I desire mercy, not sacrifice' says the Lord."

Any reason to replace spark plugs if the car runs fine? Just hit 100k.

Thanks. I installed new COPs a couple years ago when I had a misfire. If it's not going to cause a problem, I'd like to open them up a little just so I'd get a tiny bit better mileage. I noticed the 2010 owner's manual also says .039 - .043.

Any reason to replace spark plugs if the car runs fine? Just hit 100k.

Wait.... The 09 manual says My car is a late 08 with the brown coil boots. What does the brain trust think?

Just want to say all y'all rock! I had been running .041 gap b/c I didn't know better. I found in the owner's manual today: I'm finna open up the gap this afternoon. So, thanks!!

    ABS Sensor Connector?

I can't see it clearly enough, but you might be able to find a trim retainer that you can modify to work.

    diagnose my steering thump/clunk

If you said it was broken strut mounts, come forward and claim your prize. A good local shop diagnosed it by 1100 today, and I had the car again by 1500 with new Monroe/Moog strut units and sway bar links. Barely even cost $1k. [Sigh.]

18" polished wheels with the white lines all over in the clear coat, any quick fix?

I thought my wheels were clear coat, and the white lines and spider webbing drove me nuts. Polishing didn't make it better. Chrome Rustoleum spray paint is a really good match. I just happened to have some in the garage, and I tried it on an empty beer can. The sprayed can matched my rims.

    diagnose my steering thump/clunk

Thanks, JC/Dino/DieHard. The GT500 control arms are only about 18mo old. I think Ima have to take it to a shop here. I'll keep you posted.

    diagnose my steering thump/clunk

So on 2aug24 near Ann Arbor, a semi from Skyline Prime, Inc. 6111 Harrison St Ste 301 Merrillville, IN 46410 ran me off the road and onto the shoulder of US 23. I had no choice but to hit a massive pothole at about 75mph. Afterwards held a straight line, and there was no unusual vibration. I...

    less redneck air deflector

Thanks, Dino. We had discussed cutting out a rectangle so I could reach the filter. The problem was that it would probably induce some turbulence under the car. The bolts on the chassis brace are only long enough for the stock nuts. You might be able to get one thread from another nut on...

    less redneck air deflector

A couple years ago I installed a plastic panel as an air defector under my 08 GT. It did give me maybe .1mpg better, and the hood fluttered less, but it was less than ideal. Attaching it with zip ties to the K-member looked pretty amateur. My sister-in-law's fiance has a lift that he offered...
