Yeah, I wasn't impressed with the new trans either. I'm waiting for dealers to get more cars to try the test drive again. Loved the 5.0, hated the trans feel.

Come on stop bashing Justin. If their was anything wrong I'm sure he would take care of it. This is the first negative statement I have ever heard about JPC.
Well then if it's so rare, then I'm sure it would be obvious who I am, no?
shit happens. sometimes someone falls through the cracks.

when i lived in VA there were people who swore by MAS Racing and would not let Steen Racing change their oil. Yet the opposites true with others.

ive often found if someone has a problem with a particular shop (esp one with a solid rep like JPC) its usually the person more than the shop.
This is not the case for me.

I LOVED the trans. I could powershift with EASE, but after releasing the clutch pedal, the car would just hang on the limiter and wouldn't re-engage the clutch until I let off the gas. If this wasn't an issue, this is by far the easiest stock trans to powershift I have ever driven.

This was with the Stability Control off as well.

The clutch/hydro system is really no different than the previous cars. There's nothing that can control when the clutch engages/disengages other than the driver. Am I reading it right that the clutch doesn't disengage until you let off the throttle? Is it possible the clutch was slipping?

maybe theyre not WOT shifting, maybe there actually lifting for a split second?

I know JB was wide open shifting but the factory rev limiter on the new car slowly closes the throttle blade and when you shift close to it, it gives the sound of hesitation.

nice these new 5.0s are gonna be badass I want one! I cant decide wether I want an 03-04 cobra or a new 5.0mustang more ?

I was in the same boat.. But you have to be very hard up on wanting the Cobra to choose it over the 5.0.. I honestly don't think it's even close. 5.0 hands down. better all around car in just about every aspect..:nk:

I've been watching a few GT500 videos that are doing 10s (one of them from Evo) and they are usually pushing a good 200+ HP more than what these 5.0s are doing. Does the extra weight (~300 lbs) of the GT500 really make THAT big of a difference?
