I used Burnout Guard at the end of last season and the two times I've hit the track this year. It's water soluble and not supposed to harm the paint. However, I've noticed a weird blotchiness to the areas of the car that I've sprayed the stuff (I have a torch red car). After next week's track run I'm taking it to a detailer and seeing if it buffs out. Anyone else use this product and have finish problems? I couldn't find any problems with google...

when I went to the track last week a guy had a roll of self adhesive film for body work. Kind of like a think saran wrap. we stuck it to the rear of the car and peeled if off after the runs. very easy and perfectly clean. he said it was $35 for a 100 ft roll. i have to try and find the stuff

That is almost the same stuff I use as disposable fender protector. There is a picture of the roll in the garage thread. Here is a pic of it on the car.... The only problem is that they say this stuff can't get wet and then sit out in the sun, as it will do bad things to the paint. So maybe water-box + sunlight is bad???
