You should be able to reach a higher top speed with 4.10s because of torque multiplication. You will have a better chance against the drag with lower gears. And IMO you will never regret the switch. I have gone 150 in fourth, but not sure how much distance was covered to get there. I will start the bidding at 155 mph.

I agree 4.10s will get you to top speed faster, and the top speed will be increased.

As for 150 in 4th gear, only with 3.31s or 3.55s.

depends entirely on your tire size and what rpm you take the car to

Bingo! With my tires (approx 26.5" dia) and my rev limiter set at 6500 RPM, there is no way I'll run 135-140 MPH in 4th gear. Hell, I'm over 6200 RPM when I cross the stripe at 120 MPH.

nobody runs 135-140 in fourth gear with a regular 6.5 - 7.0 rpm and somewhere near a 27 inch tall tire ! (lol) half the people in here are just spouting shit !

when I had 4.10's in my car, I hit about 150mph at El Mirage, I believe I was pretty close to being out of RPM at 150. I probably accelerated a little bit longer than 1 mile though.

i wouldnt run it into 5th gear... but 4.10's 27inch tire at 6500 rpm you will be at about 127 mph in 4th. 28's 132mph. etc.

with my car and 4:10s, I can hit 133mph @ 6500rpm because I have a huge tire out back (28.6")

let us know how this goes....I have never heard of this and it has me curious. IMO you'd be safe with the 4.10's and I doubt you'd see 155-160 as the car will still be heavy.

BTW, you may want to check spelling in your sig.....many of us enjoy raceing. ;)

+1
My top speed in 4th gear with stock 17'' rims and stock tires was 127mph @ 6000rpms. My car was completely stock when I did that.

Let me clear this up... 150 in fourth gear is not going to happen with 4.10s and my tire size. I fat fingered my post and did not check it till today. What I meant was 140. Then I see all the posts and did some research. Turns out my speedo is off by almost 10% due to mis-calculation of tire diameter. I input 841 revs per mile on my tuner when I changed to 4.10s. That is 11.98 mph too high at 120 mph. So when I see 140 on the dash I'm only going 127. This explains getting the middle finger salute on the freeway several times lately. As for the 155 it is just a guess and an optimistic one at that. Sorry for the confusion this has caused. I'm not trying to bullshit anyone. I can't wait to see what it actually does. Good luck to the OP.

It depends on his tire size.

With 275/40 18" and a 3.55 gear top speed is 215mph @ 6500rpm.
With the same combination and a 4.10 gear the top speed is 186mph @ 6500rpm

Le's not forget that drag is a huge factor

FWIW....

I had 275/40r18's, 4.10 gears and and was putting down 332/319 hp/tq. It took me every bit of 2 miles to get to my top speed of 174 mph. I got to 150 mph in about 1/2 mile. It took the other 1.5 miles to milk the last of it out.

keep the spoiler it helps stablis the car at high speeds

You should also get a functional chin spoiler like the CDC agressive with the 2 center support rods. My nose was very light and all over the place.

BTW, bring clean draws with you. 150+ on street tires and suspension is some very scary shit.
