Thats 2.5 inches wider than the rim. Thats' some serious bulge, is that ok? Isn't the general rule not to go over 1.5" vs the wheel width?

seen alot of cars doing it for along time.....i think its ok.

I like it. Personally, I would probably use a smaller tire but it does look good! Thanks for the pictures!

:thumb:

i just needed a 28" tall tire for when im on the spray i come through the lines before at 6800rpm so these will help me out with that....plus i got a smoking deal on them!

Depends on how much power you're making and how much air is in the tire during the run. I personally wouldn't do it but........to each his own.

I like to use a wheel that is the same width as the tire. You can get away with running a smaller tire since the footprint spreads out more evenly giving you a wider contact patch. I've even run 12" wheels with a 10.5 slick like the True 10.5 guys do.

thats correct....but most of the TT5 guys run the 29.5" tall tires....and to be honest, i dont think there is many s197's on this forum that could over power the wheel and tire combo that i have prob plstang and maybe 1 more.

We did it with a 28" tire as well as the 29.5 tires. Hell....I put a 26 x 8.5 tire on a 10" wheel before just to prove a point.

shit! i ordered the 28x11.50-15 ET Streets! After seeing the pics I can already tell that they are going to stick out of the wheel well. Looks like Ill be sending them back for the 10.50s. Only reason I went with 11.50s is because I have 26x11.50-17 ET Streets on my stock bullitt wheels. Guess I should have known better about the "buldge" on a small wheel diameter. You live and ya learn I guess! Paging Jegs return dept!

wait im confused. Im comparing the tire he has on his car (28x10.50-15 ET DRAG) vs the tires that I ordered (28.11.50-15 ET STREET) and from what I understand, his are wider than mine...how is that or am I reading the stats wrong?

ET DRAG SPECS (28x10.50-15)
10.5'' Tread Width
Tire Compound:M5Tire Overall Diameter:28.1''Average Roll Out/
Circumference:
88''Tire Tread Width:10.0''Tire Section Width:11.7''Wheel Diameter:15''Spec Wheel Width:10''Tire Weight:24.0 lbsSuggested Tube
Part Number:
672-9555

vs. the ones I ordered

ET STREET (28x11.50-15)
8.5'' Tread Width
Tire Compound:M5Tire Overall Diameter:27.6''Average Roll Out/
Circumference:
87''Tire Tread Width:8.6''Tire Section Width:11.1''Wheel Diameter:15''Spec Wheel Width:8''Tire Weight:22.0 lbsSuggested Tube
Part Number:
672-9553

Am I correct that the 11.50 wheel is actually less wide and smaller in diameter than his 10.50 ET DRAG??
