Whoa, what steering wheel is that? with the breather looking material on it?? Is that off the real 2010 GT500?

Hard to say what that's from. It's a GT500, and initially I thought it was from Australia, or Canada... But it's a regular LH drive, and the speedometer reads in miles. Not sure what that is. Here's another pic of it. Might be pre-production.

If you find it, let us know. I'm curious as well. It's not in any of my Ford applications so I don't know what/where it's from.

Edit: Nevermind, and good luck... It looks like this specific wheel is a "one-off" from the 07 GT500 Show Car. The red/white one that was whored out before these cars made production:

Lol, I figured as much seeing as how you work for Ford and couldn't find it, it's gotta be a one off model. I think that wheel with the thumb inserts would sell quite a bit!! But yes, I do remember those whored out shots all too well. haha.

I like this wheel. I am no electrician, so i take it, the put a whole new wiring system in the 2010. No plug and play. So if we install a 2010 factory radio, you think we could run the wires to the sterring wheel?

Finished installing the 2010 GT-500 Steering Wheel !!
happy%20feet.gif

I had to use the connector from the old steering wheel and the harness from the new one.

Cruise Control Splicing:
Old Connector >>> New Harness:
white >>> gray
blue >>> brown
red >>> red (pwr)
green >>> black (gnd)

The resistance between the new harness gray and brown wires is as follows as each button is pushed:
OFF = 0 ohms
ON = 1500 ohms
RESUME = 1000 ohms
SET (-) = 300 ohms
SET (+) = 600 ohms

Music Controls: (I don't have these working yet; however, this is the resistance between the new harness green and purple wires as each button is pushed)
Music Icon = 510 ohms
VOL (-) = 50 ohms
VOL (+) = 120 ohms
|<< = 335 ohms
>>| = 210 ohms

Phone Controls: (I don't have these working yet; however, this is the resistance between the new harness yellow and blue wires as each button is pushed)
Speaker Icon = 50 ohms
OK = 335 ohms
Phone Icon = 510 ohms

There is a 2nd connector receptacle on the steering wheel hub that may come in handy for the music and phone control wiring.

For anyone interested in purchasing one of these, the price has gone up a bit, but I can still sell them for $300 shipped. Ford updates their pricing on the 1st of every month so the price can go up at just about anytime throughout the year.

Speaking of steering wheels, I wasn't able to take a picture but at PRI I saw Grant is going to release a steering wheel that keeps the airbag in the Spring. Said retail should be $199, it was very nicely done with nice grips and what not. Just thought I would share :beer:
